Dili, Capitol East Timor
Dili can seem a bit hard on a budget especiallay when it come to finding a room. With the USD currency, East Timor is unfortauntely somewhat more expensive than the rest of South East Asia. Sometimes this makes your trip seem impossible. Luckily, DTL guesthouse has been working very hard convert what was originally a fancy apartment into two new 4 bed dorm rooms. With a quirky, colourful mismatch theme it’s pretty stylish.
The backpackers complex has 2 rooms, each with 4 beds. In addition to a shared bathroom, kitchen and social space. The guesthouse itself also has a pool, sunloungers and a brand new ping pong table! All available for all guests to use.
The kitchen area has a fridge, toaster, kettle and a gas stove as well as pots and pans, plus there is a supermarket very close for you to stock on essentials, to help you cook for yourself.
Within the social space you will find bean bags, a table and chairs and a television so you can relax and chill out. Showers have hot water as well as cold!
They provide lockers (deposit required for padlock) and towels- both for the pool and shower.
The friendly staff in the office can provide you with a map of the town and give some advice for traveling around on local transport, renting a motorbike or car and taking taxis.
All this for $20 per night!
